Expert Witness - Court of Protection:
We provide Independent Social Work (ISW) ‘Expert Witness’ reports for the Court of Protection. We are experienced at analysing complex socio-legal matters and reporting in both written and oral evidence before the Court.
Mental Capacity Assessments:
We provide well-balanced mental capacity assessments which are compliant with all respective legal provisions. All mental capacity assessments are detailed, determinative and we have specialist experience in assessments regarding sexual intercourse, marriage, deprivation of liberty, provision of care, and in times of fluctuating or temporary capacity.
Power of Attorney & Deputyship Applications:
We provide official certification for both finance & affairs, and health & welfare Power of Attoreny applications, and mental capacity evidence for Deputyship applications.
DoLS Best Interest Assessments:
We provide Deprivation of Liberty ‘Best Interest’ combined assessments for Supervisory Bodies on an independent basis. Annual legal training and appropriately qualified professionals undertake these, we specialise in complex situations such as objection or legal interplay.
Assessments of Social Care Need:
We provide detailed assessments of people’s social care positions (strengths and weaknesses). These are compliant with the Care Act principles. They are undertaken by suitably trained professionals and include a detailed report.
Complaints:
We specialise in supporting people to make complaints in relation to social care and health services. Please contact us for more details about our complaint support service.

Professional Supervision:
We provide professional supervision to Social Workers, DoLS Best Interest Assessors, and Advocates (IMCA, Care Act, DoLS Paid RPR’s, etc). Kane is an experienced ‘practice supervisor’, he regularly trains and practices in these fields.
‘Litigation Friend’ - Court of Protection:
We provide litigation friend services for people who lack the ability and/or capacity to represent themselves in matters before the Court of Protection. Our services ensure the persons holistic position is represented within proceedings regarding them. We have extensive experience acting for people as litigation friends in ‘DoLS appeal’ [MCA, Schedule A1, Section 21A] proceedings. These services are provided by qualified advocates and our pro-rata charging system provides an alternative to the ‘Official Solicitor’ (litigation friend of last resort).
‘Rule 1.2 Representative’ – Court of Protection:
We provide ‘Rule 1.2 Representative’ advocates - pursuant to the Court of Protection Rules (2017) - for people who lack the ability and/or capacity to represent themselves in matters before the Court of Protection. This is a specific service considering the application for Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) Orders to the Court of Protection.
IMCA - Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy
We provide independent advocacy reports for people who lack the mental capacity to make decisions. We ensure peoples views, values and rights are duly considered by the ‘decision maker’. All reports are undertaken, or closely supervised by qualified and experienced IMCA’s (City & Guilds).
IMCA DoLS - Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard:
We undertake IMCA reports in accordance with the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards - Mental Capacity Act 2005, Schedule A1:
- section 39a: 'during a DoLS assessment'
- section 39C: 'during a break in RPR representation’
- section 39D: 'to assist a RPR'
RPPR DoLS - Relevant Paid Person Representative:
We provide regular Paid RPR services for Supervisory Bodies in Hampshire only.
QPM - Quality Performance Mark [NDTI] & Policies:
We have proven ourselves successful in supporting an Advocacy provider to meet the extensive criteria of the QPM formal accreditation. This ensures all practice, recordings, processes, policies and oversight meet the required threshold.
